“I’m either adventurous or naive, but I’m taking on the challenge with two adolescents!”

In two weeks, Katie is heading round the country as part of our Race for a Reason, with her son Josh and his cousin, Jaydan.
“After we lost Josh’s dad to suicide, we joined other families at Alfie’s Squad and have spent the last couple of years making the journey over to Liverpool from Bolton.
“We’ve been able to make lifelong friendships and receive support that has not only helped Josh build in confidence, but being with other families going through the same, it’s been an important reminder for me that I’m not doing a bad job with my boy.
“I’m excited to be taking on the race with the boys. Even if we end up struggling to solve clues and make it on time for any of the multiple journeys, I know these two will help keep the fun element there, which will no doubt reduce any stress caused by getting lost or delayed along the way!
“Josh recently went on telly to help promote the new Alfie’s Squad Hub being opened in @infinity.blgc Bolton, so no doubt he’ll be keen to help spread the word about the charity to fellow passengers and people wherever we visit. I’m proud of how far he’s come and hopefully by raising awareness of the support from Alfie’s Squad, even more families can benefit and see they’re not on this journey alone!”
We know Katie and the boys are going to give it everything they’ve got, and we’ll make sure we have something refreshing for Katie at the end, she might need it!
